Acne

Acne is often seen in teenager, but also

affects many adults around the world.

In some cases, it can be due to poor hygiene or

poor diet. But in many cases, it is result of over

producing sebum, a waxy substance that clogs up

the pores, which eventually turns in to black heads,

pimples or acnes.

This over secretion of sebum that results into

acnes is often caused by hormonal changes through

puberty for teenagers and in adults, it may be due to

elevated level of stress or hormonal changes women

go through because of the monthly cycle.

What can we do to prevent or resolve this problem?

It is important to maintain clear pores.

To do that dietary changes and herbal therapy is

an effective method of treatment.

Dietary Changes:

1. Decrease the intake of dairy.
> Cheese, Milk, Yogurt, etc.
2. Decrease excessive sugar intake.
> Candy, Chocolate, etc.
3. Increase the intake of food that contains Beta-Carotene
> Yellow / Orange Vegetables or Fruits

Herbal Therapy:

As a Doctor of Oriental Medicine, I suggest herbs that
1. Clear Heat
2. Relieve Dampness
