Green Tea

Green Tea

As a Green Tea lover, I came across a very interesting

article on Yahoo news, so I figured I share it with everyone!

According to their info, most of the free-radical fighters

in green tea never make it to your bloodstream to do what

they are supposed to do to help our body.

This includes fighting against arthritis and inflamation in the

joints, keeping our skin looking young, keeping our minds

sharp, and best of all keeping to keep the metabolism up to

stay in shape!

Well, Catechins is the ingredient in green tea that is famous

for antioxidants. So, how can we make our body absorb this

catechins?? The answer is to take vitamin C while drinking

your favorite green tea. I was amazed to hear that!? because

my grandmother used tell me to eat oranges while drinking

my green tea. Seems like older people know all the tricks in

life without the scientific research.

Unbelievable...

Anyhow, Yahoo's recomendation was to sqeeze lemon or lime

into the green tea itself. Best is 50:50 between green tea

and the lemon juice.

Hey, it's good to know. Right?

Age Related Mal-Absorption

One explanation for the aging process is that

as we grow older, we lose our ability to produce

enzymes and extract nutrition from food.

Patients with age realted mal-absorption has

reduced intracellular nutrient lebels to a critial

level. For these people, partial parenteral nutrition

will be required until intracellular nutrient levels

are maintain by oral supplementation.

There are several factorys that may cause Vitamin

Insufficiency:

1. Inadequate indestion of vitamine

2. Impaired absorption

3. Inadequate utilization

4. Increased metabolic requirement

5. Increased excretion

6. Increased destruction within the body

There are groups of people who are more vulnerable

to becoming vitamine deficiency: Elderly, pregnant,

substance abusers, emotionally depressed, chronic

illeness.

We will be posting specific Mal-Absorption related

topic such as Vitamin C, B's, and other minerals.

Please re-visit our website to obtain more information

to stay healthy and live at your fullest!
